The terms that apply to every transfer, hourly hire and private journey with us.
About these terms
These terms apply to every booking with ARGO Transfers & Touring, operated by Agostino Arrigo (ABN 83 314 563 104), Port Douglas, Queensland. By requesting a booking you accept them. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Booking requests and confirmation
- A request sent through the website, by email, phone or message is not yet a booking. We reply to confirm availability and your complete price.
- Your booking is confirmed once we have confirmed it to you in writing [TO COMPLETE: and received any deposit or payment due].
- Please check the details we confirm — date, times, addresses, flight number, number of guests — and tell us straight away if anything is wrong.
Prices
- All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD), include GST and are per vehicle, not per person.
- One-way fares apply in either direction, with one pickup and one drop-off. Return transfers cost twice the one-way fare.
- Standard pickup hours are 6am to 9pm. Pickups before 6am or at/after 9pm attract a 20% surcharge; public holidays attract 15%. When both apply, only the higher surcharge is charged.
- Cape Tribulation and Tablelands transfers, and pickups outside our usual area, are quoted individually.
- Required extras and surcharges are always included in the total we confirm before you book.
Payment
[TO COMPLETE: how and when payment is made — e.g. deposit at booking, balance before or on the day; accepted methods; card surcharges if any.]
Cancellations and changes
If you cancel
- [TO COMPLETE: e.g. More than 48 hours before pickup: full refund.]
- [TO COMPLETE: e.g. Between 48 and 24 hours before pickup: 50% of the fare.]
- [TO COMPLETE: e.g. Less than 24 hours before pickup, or no-show: full fare.]
Please cancel or change a booking by email or phone, so there is a record of the time.
Changes
We will do our best to accommodate changes to time, place or itinerary. A change may alter the price; we will confirm it before it applies.
If we cancel
If we cannot provide your booking — for example because of a vehicle breakdown, severe weather or road closures — we will offer an alternative time or a suitable replacement vehicle, or refund in full what you have paid.
Guests, luggage and child seats
- Our vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz E400 executive sedan. Airport transfers suit up to two guests with luggage; local hire and scenic journeys up to three guests, subject to luggage.
- Please tell us about large or unusual luggage (golf bags, dive gear, surfboards) when booking. We may refuse items that do not fit safely.
- Children must travel in an approved child or booster seat as Queensland law requires. Pre-book a seat for $20 per seat per transfer leg, or $20 per seat for a continuous touring booking. Children and infants count towards the guest limit.
Airport pickups and waiting time
- Please give us the correct flight number. We monitor arrivals and adjust your pickup when your flight is early or late.
- Waiting is included for 45 minutes after actual landing for domestic flights and 90 minutes for international flights.
- After that, and for pre-booked stops, waiting is charged at $30 per started 15 minutes. We will tell you before chargeable waiting begins.
Hourly hire and private touring
- Hourly hire has a minimum of 3 hours. A full touring day includes 8 hours, starting and finishing in Port Douglas; other pickup areas are quoted separately.
- Extra time is $140 per hour, subject to availability and agreed before extending the day. Shorter hire is charged for the time booked.
- Hire includes the vehicle, the driver and bottled water. Meals, admissions, cruises, ferry crossings and special parking charges are extra and are itemised in your quote.
- We operate on sealed public roads and established visitor routes. We do not drive the Bloomfield Track or four-wheel-drive routes, and we may change a route because of weather, road conditions or ferry delays.
On board
- Seat belts must be worn at all times.
- No smoking or vaping in the vehicle.
- [TO COMPLETE: rules on food and alcohol on board, and the cleaning fee for soiling, if any.]
- The driver may refuse or end a journey if a passenger's behaviour puts safety at risk.
Delays, liability and insurance
We plan journeys with care, but traffic, weather, road works and other events beyond our control can cause delays. Please allow reasonable time for flights, tours and reservations. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for missed connections or bookings caused by events beyond our control.
[TO COMPLETE: passenger and public liability insurance held by the operator, and limits of liability if any — to be checked with a legal adviser.]
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees of the Australian Consumer Law.
Lost property
We check the vehicle after every journey. Contact us as soon as possible if you have left something behind; we will help return it, and delivery costs may apply.
Your information
How we use the details you give us is explained in our Privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
