What we collect when you book or contact us, why, and what you can ask of us.
Who we are
ARGO Transfers & Touring ("we", "us") provides private airport transfers, hourly chauffeur hire and private touring from Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia. The business is operated by Agostino Arrigo (ABN 83 314 563 104).
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can ask of us. It is written to meet the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, for visitors from the European Union and the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR and UK GDPR).

What we collect
When you request a booking
- your name, email address and phone number;
- the service, date, pickup time and pickup location you request;
- the number of guests and, for airport pickups, your flight number;
- anything you tell us when we confirm the booking, such as luggage, child seats or itinerary wishes.
When you contact us
The content of your emails, messages (including WhatsApp) and calls, and the details you give us in them.
When you visit the website
Our web server records technical information for security and to keep the site running: your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
We do not collect payment card details through this website.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you ask for: checking availability, confirming your price, arranging your pickup, monitoring your flight and contacting you on the day.
- To answer your questions and handle any changes, cancellations or complaints.
- To meet our legal obligations, for example keeping business and tax records.
- To keep the website secure, for example blocking automated spam on the booking form.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to.
Legal bases (visitors from the EU and UK)
We process your information because it is necessary to arrange the journey you request (performance of a contract), to comply with our legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in running a secure website. The tick box on the booking form confirms that you have read our terms and this policy; it is not a consent to marketing, and we do not rely on consent for the booking itself.
Who we share it with
Only with those who help us provide the service, and only what they need:
- the chauffeur assigned to your journey;
- our website hosting provider, whose servers in the European Union store the website and the booking requests we receive;
- Resend, which delivers the booking request to our inbox by email, and Google (Gmail), which hosts that inbox;
- where enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that booking requests are sent by a person and not a bot;
- authorities, when the law requires it.
Information stored outside Australia
The website and its database are hosted in the European Union. We run the business from Australia, so we read and handle your booking request there. Our email providers (Resend and Google) may process it in the United States. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to Australian law and, for visitors from the EU and UK, the GDPR.
How long we keep it
Booking requests sent through the website are deleted from it automatically 24 months after we receive them. When a request becomes a booking, the details we need are kept in our business records for as long as Australian tax law requires, generally five years, and then deleted.
How we protect it
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Booking requests are stored in a password-protected system that only we can access, and we keep the information we hold to what we need.
Cookies
The website uses only the cookies it needs to work, set by our own site:
- a session cookie, which keeps the booking form working between pages;
- a security token, which protects the booking form from forged requests.
Both expire after two hours without activity. Where enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile runs a security check on the booking form; it is used only to block bots, not to track you. We use no analytics, advertising or social-media cookies, so we do not ask for cookie consent. If that changes, we will ask before setting any of them.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your information, unless we must keep it by law (for example tax records).
If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to restrict or object to our use of your information and to receive it in a portable format.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or, in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
Children
Bookings must be made by an adult. We do not knowingly collect information from children, other than what a parent or guardian gives us to arrange a journey (for example, the need for a child seat).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
